A Note From The Author
I believe that STEM holds the key to a brighter and safer future for the world. Solutions to so many of the global challenges our society faces today—public health, climate change, poverty—depend on advances in STEM.
By encouraging children to ask questions and providing fun and engaging explanations, I hope to feed their fascination of STEM, urging them to pursue their interests and eventually become the next generation of change-makers. I want to encourage them to maintain their inborn curiosity as they grow into adulthood, inputting their own brilliant cogitation into the progressing technology and innovative developments of today.
While the gender gap has diminished in recent years, the STEM workforce continues to be highly dominated by men. I am working towards a more balanced mind pool because I believe that, with the diverse contributions of those gifted women who simply lacked support, our society can achieve so much more. And I know that we can prevent these missed opportunities by starting with today's youth. My dream is that young people, and especially young girls, will discover a passion for STEM and choose to help propel this ever-changing world to new heights.
